Car Show Parade

We took in the car show parade again this year and headed for our usual spot, but we left just a few minutes too late.

There weren't any parking spots way up close so I had to walk aways. It wasn't too bad though.

The ground was a bit uneven, but I just took my time and made it just fine.

The parade was pretty good. Of course we picked the wrong side of the street again with the sun shining in our eyes. Maybe next year we will smarten up!

Foothills Parade

Shortly after everyone arrived, the Yuma Foothills was having a parade to raise funds for a cause. It was just up the street from our house so we all walked up and took in the parade. It was a nice day and good exercise for me.

Yuma House Warming

A little late, thanks to an unpleasant event, but as they always say, 'better late than never'.

The weather turned out alright, a little breezy, but warm.

However, typical desert weather, as soon as that sun goes down, so does the temperature.

Lots of good food and a pleasure to see everyone.

A couple of dishes in particular were a bit hit.

Doris and Mel brought Hawaiian Beans and Connie and Dave brought Cornmeal Casserole. I made sure to get the recipes for both.

The happy hours and gathering of friends is the only thing I miss about not being in a park.

We will just have to take ourselves to happy hours and maybe have a few of our own as well.

Yuma Birthdays

A couple of birthdays were celebrated in Yuma. Ron and Louise arrived first, just before her birthday.

She had decided to trim a little weight so to kick start her metabolism, she went on a cabbage soup diet.

She was quite rigid in her resolve to stay true to her regime, so of course no cake and ice cream for her. We did celebrate though and it was a good laugh.

Hal's birthday came next and he took us all out to dinner at the Olive Garden. Very good meal and a nice celebration.

Because we were having dinner out, we gave him a piece of cake at home before going out. Our miracle man looks pretty good eh!
